Build a beautiful resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest vacation rentals to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are steps from the beachfront. Bring the bikes because Buxton's unique shops, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD vehicle - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and, if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers). This recently remodeled Lindal Cedar Diamond Point Estates home is built close to the ground and provides easy access for all ages. The house is just a five-minute walk to Buxton's best fishing, sunning, and surfing beaches. With just a short drive south, you can take the ferry to Ocracoke Island and all it has to offer, and there are additional fishing opportunities at fabled Hatteras Point. The house has good concrete parking and a one-and-a-half car garage with a washer/dryer and a fish freezer. The living area is comfortably furnished and has a nice entertainment system anchored by a large flatscreen TV, plus a DVD/Blu-ray player. The updated kitchen has all the right equipment for producing perfect meals for the nearby dining area. The first bedroom has a TV and a private bath located on the ground level. Upstairs, the second bedroom has a TV monitor with a DVD player and the third bedroom has a TV and a DVD/Blu-ray player as well.
