With its fabulous setting on the Roanoke Sound and a mouth-watering menu, Tale of the Whale Restaurant is one of those places on the Outer Banks that visitors flock to year after year.  The family-owned business prides itself on making each meal one to remember for every customer.  Beautiful views of the sound can be enjoyed through numerous windows that line the rear of the restaurant. Pasta, salad and soup are also available, and there is a “lighter fare,” vegetarian, and childrens’ menu.  Children, families and parties of all sizes are welcome, but it’s recommended to call ahead to accommodate a large group. The facility is also available for special occasions. Live music is offered on the waterfront gazebo on summer evenings.

Pastries, cakes, and pies, oh my! At Tullio's Bakery located in Loblolly Pines Shopping Center in Duck, NC, "tasty" is their business! The award-winning bakery has an abundance of baked goods, each lovingly made from scratch for even the most discriminate of palates. You are bound to find something you adore within this saccharin wonderland. Owner Tom Amoruso works his magic in the kitchen as the affable, attentive staff take care of your every need. The only problem you will encounter in this bakery is deciding what you want! Tullio's has gained nationwide recognition by being featured on the Food Network, and specializes in turning out freshly baked breads, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, donuts, cheesecakes, desserts, and custom wedding cakes.

This creative professional seamstress shop, new in 2012, is owned by Kelly Cassady, a young woman who earned her stripes with a degree in fashion design from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and an internship in New York City.  But Cassady has also worked in the costume shop of The Lost Colony and been sewing since she was 13 years old, so she has a broad understanding of her craft.
